What is so special about green?
Why do I like green? Well, for a number of reasons.
The first and by far the most important point, is that it is
monochromatic. This is important since I spend most of my time in
front of computer monitors. Computer monitors use three primary
colors (red, green, blue) to create all other colors. However, that
means that all colors except for those three (and black, of course)
involve more than one color "gun" (electron gun) firing at the same
time. If the guns are not perfectly aligned then the edges are blurry
and cause great eye fatigue. The basic problem is that most monitors
drift out of focus continuously and cannot be focused perfectly
at all locations on the monitor. In fact, you are lucky if they can
be focused perfectly at even one location since you normally have a
control system with two degrees of action in a system with six degrees
of freedom.
The secord reason is that I am an "autumn" and thus innately prefer
autumn colors like deep brown, deep green, etc.
The third reasons is that green has been proven to be a "restful"
color. Red, for example, is an angry color.
