Driving Instructions: There are several different options depending on where you are driving
from.

make wide right onto Flatbush Avenue Extension into left lane.
Drive .2 miles south and make first left onto Myrtle Avenue.
Drive .5 miles east and take first right after Fort Greene Park
onto Washington Park (don't ask). Make first left onto Willoughby at
the "mid-block" non-lighted intersection. Make first left onto
Carlton. 163 Carlton is 7/8th of the way down the block on your right.

the gas station and _at_ the flashing Kennedy Fried Chicken sign.

Park onto Washington Park (don't ask). Make first left onto
Willoughby at the "mid-block" non-lighted intersection. Make

the block on your right.
- New Jersey via Hudson Tunnel. Exit onto east bound Canal
street out of the Hudson Tunnel. Continue east on Canal
street until you get on the Manhattan Bridge. See Manhattan
Bridge instructions above.
- New Jersey via George Washington. Continue straight on I95
1.3 miles through Manhattan and take the Harlem River Drive
exit (which is in the "middle"--left side for the lower
roadway, right side for the upper roadway). Be very aware as
you go up the ramp for sudden turns and merging traffic, and
get onto the southbound Harlem River Drive). Continue south
on this 10.5 miles (it turns into the Franklin D Roosevelt

First Avenue), then exit on the Brooklyn Bridge exit. Follow

- Personalized directions
Driving back to sanity:
- Getting back to the Brooklyn Bridge. From my apartment,
continue North on Carlton--passing under I278--until it
deadends at Flushing Ave. Turn left on Flushing Ave and
continue West. Take the first right onto Navy Street. Take
the second left onto Sands Street. Just after you pass under
I278, you should see a big sign for the entrance ramp onto the
Brooklyn Bridge with a slight veer to the left.
- Getting back to the Manhattan Bridge. From Carlton turn left
onto West-bound Myrtle .5 miles. Turn right onto the Flatbush
Avenue Extension which will put you on the Manhattan Bridge.
- Getting back to the I278/BQE. From my apartment,
continue North on Carlton--passing under I278--until it
deadends at Flushing Ave. Turn left on Flushing Ave and
continue West. Take the first right onto Navy Street. Take
the second left onto Sands Street. As you continue West on
Sands, you will see entrace ramps to the BQE to your left.
Continue on, since turning in is illegal at this point. Just
after Sands Street splits prior to going under the BQE, there
is a cut-off road to your left which allows you to make a U
turn. Make that left turn just before the BQE, and left again
so that you are going East on Sands, then take whichever of
the two BQE on-ramps you wish.
Parking Options:
- Street Parking. Place your bets and
takes your chances. Be sure to evaluate the neighborhood. Stay
inside Washington Park, Myrtle, Vanderbilt, and Lafayette. Watch
for alternate side of the street parking and also note that
directly outside of my building is nominally no parking.
- Parking Garage. There is a parking
garage at Lafayette and Myrtle, three short blocks east of
Carlton. Armory Parking 172 Vanderbilt Avenue (near Myrtle) Brooklyn,
